Most of us have a home that is heated by either a gas furnace or a heat pump. Most of us didn't make the choice between the two. This is the most expensive budget item in most homeowners lives and they sometimes don't even know the source.

I am a professional heat and air technician and know the difference between the two. I decided on heat pumps many years ago and in the past 8 years, I have been promoting Hybrid heat pumps. Fossil fuel heat is used only when it is extreme cold and the heat pump to maintain the thermostat heating set point in milder weather.
