Did you know. . .

The average paper use for South America is 80 pounds per person.

The average paper use for Europe is 291 pounds per person.

The average paper use for everyone on the planet is 119 pounds per person.

But here's the kicker. . .

The average paper use in the United States is 653 pounds per person. . .and half of that ends up in the landfill. . .

First question: "the pounds per person used" in the above article: is that per week? Month? or year?
Also I have maybe a ton of plastic that I would like to keep out of the land fill. What can I do with it? I used to sell it into Knoxville for a nickel a pound or so, but he says he isn't receiving it even free at the present. Mostly plastic computer cases. I have stripped the circuit boards out and sold them for their gold and silver content. The copper as well as aluminum and steel have been sold also. But I am left with the plastic cases.
Do you people want them? If not as recyclers can you direct me where to take them?
Thanks

Sorry! That's 653 lbs. per person per year.

There's a plastics recycling company located in Rossville, GA named River City Recycling (no relationship to us, just an odd coincidence!) that will take those cases off your hands. They will offer rates based on the type of material as well as the tonnage. They process plastics only, btw.

Their address:

555 McFarland Ave
Rossville, GA 30741

Phone:
(706) 861-8415

Make sure to tell them that we sent you!

Thanks.

Thanks River City.
Guess I didn't tell you I signed up as my alter ego. Actually I have a Panamanian Passport in that name!
I did miss your name though.
Thanks for the info.
I'll call them manana.
