Steve,
I have discussed the possibility of a merger with GreenBuiding, and Smart Growth with the Chair of GreenBuilding (Joe Martin) and a handfull of the greenbuilding participants and we think it would be good to merge our two groups. I have invited them to our meeting Thursday at Charlie Kings office. This group is mainly focused on residential where we are focusing on more commercial. I think it is a good merger for both groups, and if we needed to we could have sub-groups...one exploring the commercial side, and the other the residential. I mentioned this to Karen, and she is aware that some overlapping groups are beginning to merge. I don't think she would have an objection. This is a really good group of people, but small...the last couple of meetings we only had three and five people. I know that our group has dwindled in people as well, I don't know if they have been busy, or if people are begining to lose interest. GreenBuilding does not want to commandeer our Smart Growth meeting Thursday, but they would like to have a few minutes to discuss their focus and goals that have been set out. I think that our group would be interested in this and may want to get involved to help.
We need to discuss the Chattanooga Green Festival as well...it is going to be on April 10th from 10:00 till 4:00. We need to decide what kind of information we would like to present, if we are going to have a presence...Our focus is Residential, Business, and Industries (NHBA, AIA, USGBC, ASLA, Land Development Office, etc....I have to present to the committee the following Wednesday what we plan to do. Are we going to have tours, volunteers, exhibits, workshops, brochures, etc...specifics...

Just wanted to invite you to Set In Stone's open house tomorrow. You're welcome to bring anybody from Franklin too.
Later, Jeremiah
