Hello all,
Choosing a landscape plant based solely on its color and/or it’s looks at the nursery is a very common mistake people make. When choosing plant varieties, here are a few things one needs to consider…
• Mature plant height and width.
• Sun exposure.
• Watering needs.
• Evergreen or deciduous.
• Disease and insect resistance.
Look at the area where the plants will be permanently. Also take in mind what you are trying to accomplish with your landscape. If you are trying to hide an HVAC system you will probably want an evergreen, for example. Always group plants with similar watering needs together to make things easier and for plant health.
