We have many green and environmentally friendly products in Area 61 and never thought of it that way because we have always made our furniture this way and then use the cut offs and left over materials for other things. I have recently expanded this practice and want to get the word out and need the support in the community. We try to use the materials completely because when the original source is used and then the energy is expended to process the material we should not waste any . All of the materials as cutoffs and left overs are perfectly good, just not in a form most shops are willing to handle. We get them and find no difficulty in making things (mostly small items, but not always) and actually have greater creative possibilities because we are willing to experiment more. We can do more and do better.

What kind of items do you guys make? Do you ever make things in a modern style, like IKEA looking stuff?

Yes, we do make modern styled pieces. I currently have three smal tables in, walnut, white oak and mahogany, a larger breakfast or dining table and many small items-boxes,lamps. David Crewe has a lot of modern pieces and we all will design and build whatever someone wants. I have photos of pieces I have done in the past.
